A top Democrat official who was responsible for leading the party in one of the biggest states in America has just decided to abandon the fledgling leftist party – calling them “political hacks.”
Florida state Senate Minority Leader Jason Pizzo declared on the Senate floor that the party he once belonged to was now “dead.”
He didn’t resign from the senate, instead he said he would remain a senator but would register without party affiliation.
“The Democratic Party in Florida is dead. There are good people who can resuscitate it, but they don’t want it to be me.”
While Pizzo specifically mentions the Florida Democratic party, this is the situation ALL OVER THE COUNTRY and people are beginning to realize that the this formerly powerful political party is DOA.
“I will continue to fight incredibly hard for everyone in the state of Florida,” said Pizzo, adding that he was “not in this position because of Democrats. I got elected because of non-party-affiliated voters. The 3.7 million people who have no party, who have no representation…Stripping myself of a title, of a party designation, allows me to run free and clear, clean and transparent, and help many, many more.”
“Constituents are craving practical leaders, not political hacks,” Pizzo added.
Nikki Fried, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, responded to Pizzo’s resignation, slamming him in a statement as “one of the most ineffective and unpopular Democratic leaders in recent memory.”
“His resignation is one of the best things to happen to the party in years,” she said.
But when you have some of the most powerful Democrats ditching their party because they think it will be BETTER for their political career… I’m not exactly sure that’s a good sign.
