Poll Reveals Dem Voters Want Joe Biden to Pick Elizabeth Warren as his VP

Justin Coleman of The Hill reports that Elizabeth Warren is overwhelmingly Democratic voters’ first choice as Joe Biden’s running mate in the presidential election.

A new CBS News poll revealed that a whopping “Seventy-one percent of Democratic voters say Warren should be considered as a running mate.” Coming in behind Warren are Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) at 59 percent, failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams at 50 percent, and  Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) at 49 percent, respectively.

The Democrat’s choice for VP is more important than ever. Biden is 77 years old and would be 78 years old by the time he gets into office. He is at best a one term president. It’s entirely possible Biden’s VP pick would take over duties for him as he ages or if he chooses to step aside after winning the office.

A majority of Democrats polled ranked “economic expertise and crisis management” as the qualities they most desire in a vice-presidential candidate. At the same time, 55 percent of Democratic voters said the former Vice President should make a “bold” choice.

Whether Biden will pick a woman as his running mate is all but a given. He has pledged in the past to pick a woman as his running mate and said last Saturday his committee is vetting “more than a dozen women” to be his VP.

Watch the video as Elijah Schaeffer of Next News Network explains why it’s ironic that Biden might pick Warren as a running mate.
