Police Reaction to Trump’s Crackdown on Illegal Immigrants

Arguments from liberals have rained down on Donald Trump since his announcement of cracking downs on illegal immigrants. Despite the term “illegal” within the title of an individual, people have a problem with removing individuals who are within the country illegally.

Whether or not they commit a crime is not the issue, as it takes money out of both the state and federal systems to provide services for these individuals. For a country that is tens of trillions of dollars in debt, there simply is not this kind of financing available.

Some people on the other side of the country want to tell states like Arizona and New Mexico how to handle border patrol and illegal immigration, but often it is because these individuals don’t understand what is going on in border states. It would be similar to residents in Arizona being for or against a second international bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor, Canada—they have no idea what their talking about.

Police in international border counties have jobs at hand that greatly differ from that of police officers in other areas of the country. In Midwestern and Northeastern states, counties are relatively small, yet counties are massive in Southwestern states.

For example, the state of Ohio has 88 counties, so each police department has a very small chunk of land to cover. The state of Arizona has 15 counties (Arizona is the 6th largest state by land while Ohio is the 34th), so police departments, especially those around borders, have much more to handle.

So how do police in states like Arizona feel about Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown? Watch the video to find out.
