Outdated Software Could Leave 2020 Elections Vulnerable to Hacking

We need to take a sobering look at something. This country got lucky in 2016. We were under the leadership of a man who promised that elections can’t be hacked or externally influenced. He then immediately claimed that Russian hacking and interference skewed the results of that very same election.

He was warned of the threat, but he was forced to ignore it because, politically, he didn’t want to risk undermining Hillary’s credibility (because he assumed she would win).

The truth is that electronic elections can be hacked. We also know that there is one side that feels the need to do anything and everything in their power to sway the next election. This time, they’re all assuming that President Trump will win.

It puts us in a tough spot. There are clear vulnerabilities. There is a powerfully motivated group of people who have no qualms with destroying our electoral process in order to get what they want.

The fuse is set and the match is already lit. 2020 will be at greater risk of tampering than any election in history.

So, what can we do about it? It starts with understanding the problem. This video shows the biggest electronic risks facing us this year. From there, we have to pressure the people in power to take steps. Maybe, a paper ballot isn’t such a bad idea. Regardless, watching the video is the place to start.
