By now you’ve probably heard about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal. The proposal that the freshman Democrat from New York revealed on her website would eliminate air travel and cars in 10 years, so we can presumably begin using covered wagons to get across the country once again. It would also eliminate hamburgers to rescue us all from the dangers of cow flatulence which is supposedly worse for the environment than… well, than anything!
The Green New Deal would cost at least $93 trillion to implement. $93 trillion! And that figure doesn’t take into account the irreparable harm it would do to America when we eliminate airplanes and automobiles, so we can’t quickly transport food from farms to cities.
You shouldn’t get hung up on hateful “fact-based” arguments like that, though. You should just accept the Green New Deal and turn power of the economy completely over to the Democrats and AOC because we’ve got, like, only like, 12 years to fix this, man!
Republicans in the Senate have decided to call AOC’s bluff after three-fourths of Democrats signed on to the Green New Deal, however. They submitted the plan as an actual bill and they’re going to vote on it. Genius! This will force presidential candidates in the Senate like Bernie Sanders, Corey Booker and Kamala Harris to go on record for supporting or opposing this pile of garbage.
However, there’s one person who’s now really upset that her plan will be subjected to a doomed-to-fail vote: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! You read that right. Check out the video below for AOC’s response to the Senate voting on her plan — it is pure comedy gold!
