Obama’s Wall Street Speeches Generate Big Pay Day

When will the former president of the U.S. stop acting like he’s still the president?

If the ex-president in question is Barack Obama, that time seems like it may never come! Yes, unbelievably, it appears to be the case that our nation’s previous commander-in-chief is now flying around the country (and the globe) talking to world leaders and giving speeches that have overtly political messages in them as if he’s still in residence at the White House.

By actively living in Washington, D.C., as opposed to retiring quietly to Hawaii or Illinois or any other number of places, Obama has made it clear he’s going to use his political capital to work against the new administration of our country even as he collects a $236,000 pension from the federal government. In some nations, this behavior would be called treasonous, but in the U.S., liberal Democrats merely call it “entrepreneurial.”

The danger, of course, is if this starts to become a habit for ex-presidents; “revolving-door” lobbying by ex-Congresspeople and Senators is already looked down upon in Washington, and this shameful practice by a former commander-in-chief is a terrible precedent to set. And it’s not like Obama needs the cash — he just signed a $60 million book deal for his memoirs. To add insult to injury, this clip features a choice quote from the former top Democrat about his thoughts on personal profiteering.

At some point, however, our government may have to take up this issue from a legal standpoint. Watch as Fox News’ Chris Stirewalt gives his take on the matter as well as his opinions about President Trump’s newfound realism on immigration issues.
