Obama/Clinton to Blame for Slave Trade in Libya

Three months ago, the media was up in arms over details of the horrific open-market slave trade taking place in Libya. While those in the media were right to be outraged about this atrocity, one thing they failed to cover was the fact that the policies put forth by the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s State Department were directly to blame for allowing the Libyan slave trade to flourish.

In 2012, Obama and Clinton insisted that there was an “Arab Spring” uprising taking place in Libya, when in fact the small group of so-called “rebels” that they were referring to were al Qaeda fighters. The Obama administration went on to use this false belief as justification for overthrowing the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in spite of the fact that President Bush had made a peace agreement with Gaddafi contingent on him destroying his weapons of mass destruction.

The problem is that, while Gaddafi may have been a dictator, Libya was a relatively stable and peaceful place under his rule. Now, in the post-Gaddafi era, this is most certainly not the case. Obama and Clinton’s decision to overthrow Gaddafi has led to a power vacuum in Libya that has thrown the country into chaos, giving rise to its open-market slave trade as well as many other atrocities.
