Another day, another innocent New Yorker slammed to the pavement while just trying to get to class. This time, the victim is NYU student Amelia Lewis, who was ambushed in broad daylight on a busy Manhattan street. The whole thing was caught on surveillance video—and it’s every bit as disturbing as it sounds.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday on Broadway. Lewis had her headphones in, minding her own business, when a man came up behind her, smacked her hard, then grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground like she was nothing. Her headphones went flying, and so did any shred of safety she felt walking to school in what’s supposed to be one of the most “progressive” cities in America.
This is what happens when you let your city rot. This is what happens when voters keep choosing soft-on-crime Democrats who care more about protecting criminals than protecting students. And it likely won’t be stopping anytime soon as incoming Mayor Zohran Mamdani ran on a campaign of filtering out police officers in favor of “community officers.” Even Lewis, through tears, said it herself: “This just shows that you really need to reflect on who you’re voting for and supporting right now.”
Bingo.
The attacker? Described as a tall white man with long brown hair, a beard, wearing gray sweatpants, a big black fur jacket, and a blue towel around his neck. So far, he’s still out there. Free to roam. Free to do it again.
The NYPD says they’re investigating, and NYU security is involved. But ask yourself—why is this even happening in the first place? Why does a young woman have to end up in tears on TikTok just to get attention for being assaulted on her way to class?
This is the New York City that Democrats built. And it’s falling apart—one innocent female at a time. That’s who gets hurt the most by Democrats soft on crime policies.
