NYC Mayor Introduces Green New Deal, Bans Glass and Steel Buildings

If we didn’t know that the mayor of New York City wasn’t just doing this to hurt Donald Trump, we’d say this has got to be the dumbest mayor of any major city in decades. But the truth is, Mayor Bill De Blasio knows very well that his plan to ban steel and glass skyscrapers won’t do jack for the environment. The dude ought to know that his plan to impose million dollar fines on the owners of buildings like Trump Tower is directly opposed to liberal CFW plans like Agenda 21, which wants people jammed into hive-housing and out of single-family units.

On second thought, it does match up with the plan in one way. It takes aim at large, glittering symbols of American pride and ingenuity. And it turns the President into a criminal. In the end, that’s probably the main goal of this idea. It’s a way to sound both super liberal and progressive while transforming the owner of Trump Tower into an environmental scofflaw.

It’s what he calls New York’s “Green New Deal.” And like Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal, which was shot down by both Democrats and Republicans, De Blasio’s NYGND takes aim at a mainstay of modern American life- the high rise buildings that line every street in NYC.

What goofballs like De Blasio fail to appreciate, is that these glittering towers don’t just glorify the people who own it- it glorifies every human being in the same way that a great novel or a magnificent sports performance does.

Anyway, we know he’ll fail like the rest of them.

If you’re ready for a massive cringe, here- have a look.
