New York Governor Andrew Cuomo showed his true colors at a press conference this week when he snapped at a reporter who held him to account for his pandemic failures.
The incident occurred when Governor Cuomo was asked about New York City schools closing, just minutes before the announcement was made, they had been closed.
When told by a reporter that parents were confused, Cuomo angrily snapped back, “They’re not confused, you’re confused.”
His arrogance at being asked a tough question was remarkable. It’s obvious Democrats like him aren’t used to being asked anything other than softball questions by a complicit media. On the rare occasions they are confronted, they flip out.
Many on both sides were not impressed with his reaction. Elza Relman tweeted: “Cuomo is trying to humiliate a reporter … who asked whether NYC schools would be open tomorrow. Minutes later, NYC schools chancellor announces schools will be closed tomorrow,”
Michael Wooten of WGRZ in Buffalo tweeted that Governor Cuomo: “Ought not lecture a reporter about his tone and then yell at him. Reporters ask questions, and the governor — who works for the people — should just provide answers. This was a shameful performance, in my opinion.” #JustAnswerTheQuestions
Perhaps the Governor is upset that the President let him know there may be a price to pay for his lack of leadership. Trump has said New York may have to go to the back of the line for a vaccine due to Cuomo’s publicized doubts about “Operation Warp Speed.”
