Newsweek Fires Reporter who LIED about President Trump’s Thanksgiving Activities

You know the media lies. They seem to have no shame in it. You also know they always get away with it. As long as the lies fit an anti-Trump narrative, there’s no need for journalistic integrity. That’s something that went out of style a long, long time ago. This basic fact is what makes the story surrounding Newsweek so strange.

It starts simply enough. An editor at Newsweek told one of their reporters to write a story about President Trump’s Thanksgiving plans. Considering the nefarious stuff that happens in newsrooms, this is a pretty tame beginning. And, innocently enough, the reporter took the job.

Now, typically, you would expect the reporter to try to track President Trump’s schedule and then be where he was for the holiday. That way she could get firsthand information and possibly talk to people involved. Holiday plans might be boring, but this seems like basic reporting strategy. If she wanted to be a leftist journalist, she could always add spin.

Instead, she turned the story into her editor the day before Thanksgiving. That’s right. Newsweek’s scathing tale of President Trump slacking off during the holidays was in print before the day actually happened, and that’s why things are interesting.

It turns out that the President was actually in Afghanistan, and Newsweek was horrendously embarrassed. In the craziest turn of events, the journalist who lied was fired. Does that seem like actual accountability? Before you get your hopes too high, watch the video. After all, this reporter didn’t publish the false story alone.
