Let’s take a trip down memory lane. On January 16, 1998, Ken Star began his official investigation into allegations of Bill Clinton having an affair with Monica Lewinsky. As part of the investigation, he had Clinton testify under oath. That happened on January 26.
Star continued the investigation into the summer. By July 29, he had enough evidence to corner the President. Clinton admitted to perjury. On October 5, the impeachment process began. From the beginning of the investigation to the start of impeachment took less than 10 months. The investigation took roughly six.
Here’s a more recent story. Brett Kavanaugh faced multiple accusations of rape and sexual misconduct in October of 2018. He submitted to a degrading circus of a hearing, but he left his entire life wide open to expedite any investigation. Afterwards, the FBI conducted a full investigation. After a matter of weeks, it was found that he had done nothing wrong and none of the allegations could be corroborated at all.
In the meantime, Donald Trump has been under investigation for roughly two years. In that time, no one has provided any evidence of any wrongdoing on his part. The investigations have revealed foreign election meddling, but everyone caught so far has been a Democrat. Also, none of them have been prosecuted.
All of this is to point out that Mueller’s investigation is a train wreck. At this point, we should start to celebrate how much Democratic corruption the investigation has uncovered, but the actual culprits aren’t facing any consequences.
