The New York Times decided one should “believe all women”… unless former Vice President Joe Biden is a part of the story. In that case, the paper chose to do a “deep dive” investigation into Tara Reade’s claim Biden sexually assaulted her in 1990 when she was a member of his staff.
After “tireless journalism” The Times said it “found no pattern of sexual misconduct” despite claims of unwanted harassment and touching by multiple women covering decades.
The Times ridiculously concluded, “No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced … nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.”
The Times went beyond “fact-finding” and insinuated that Reade is a flat-out liar and warned that “filing a false police report may be punishable by a fine and imprisonment.”
What happened to believe all women? I guess that doesn’t apply when it’s a Democrat being accused.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian says it’s hard to believe people don’t remember how The New York Times showed absolute sympathy for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey-Ford. He writes: “to defend Joe Biden & demean Tara Reade? Do you think people are that dumb?”
Yes, Mr. Greenwald apparently, they do. But they’re wrong.
