Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemed to have a chip on her shoulder when a reporter asked her recently if she hated the president.
As she walked away from a press conference podium, former Fox News reporter James Rosin who now reports for the Sinclair Broadcast Group, asked Speaker Pelosi, “Do you hate the president?”
Pelosi responded by pointing a finger at Rosin and snapping, “I don’t hate anybody.” A few minutes later she added, “As a Catholic, I resent your using the word ‘hate’ in a sentence that addresses me … I was raised in a way that is a heart full of love and always pray for the president. … I pray for the president all the time.”
President Trump responded in a Tweet saying, “She says she ‘prays for the President.’ I don’t believe her, not even close.”
Michael Goodwin observed in an opinion piece in The New York Post:
Does Pelosi hate Donald Trump? Of course, she does. She hates that he’s president, that he’s building an economy that is the envy of the world and that he appeals to voters her party used to own. She’s turned him into such a villain that every success of his is a failure for her.
