Nancy Pelosi Calls for More Investigations into Trump, Angling for Another Impeachment

The Hill reports that House Democrats aren’t going to let up investigating President Trump’s administration just because he was acquitted by the Senate.

No matter the route they choose, Democrats seem confident there is more wrongdoing out there to uncover. The only question for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic House members is what and when.

House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said, “Donald Trump, I still believe, is a one-man crime wave, and we can’t let him get away with all of his other offenses against the Constitution and the people.”

The day after Trump’s acquittal, Pelosi told reporters the House was waiting on the outcome of several lawsuits filed previously by Democrats. Her party is also not through with Schiff and other’s determination to pursue testimony from John Bolton.

“If you believe the Bolton leaks that this was not the only country that he was acting shady with, then I do think we should learn more about what’s going on with Russia. What’s going on with Turkey? What’s going on with Saudi, North Korea, etc.?” said Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).

Pursuing a second impeachment effort would not only be unprecedented, but it could invite intense political blowback.
