Mueller’s Investigation Indicts Russian Facebook Trolls…And That’s It

For months, special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into the Trump team’s involvement with Russia during the 2016 campaign has been the talk of the media. For a long time, those on the left were certain that this investigation would be the blow that takes down President Trump. As time went on, though, and the investigation was little by little proven to be nothing but a political hit job that turned up zero evidence against Trump, even the most persistent liberals began to lose hope.

Now that Mueller has finally issued several indictments, liberals still aren’t feeling very hopeful. The problem for those on the left is that Mueller’s investigation did not indict Trump or any member of his team. Instead, Mueller only issued indictments to a handful of Russian citizens who by all accounts could be described as mere internet trolls.

So, after no telling how many millions of dollars spent and hours of media coverage, all Mueller has to show for his investigation is a few Russian citizens meddling where they shouldn’t be online. That’s it. Turn off the lights, close the case, and everyone can go home.

An ending to the Mueller investigation such as this is more anticlimactic than even most conservatives would have imagined. Given that the entire investigation was based on the proven-false Steele Dossier, though, this should hardly come as a surprise.
