During a recent segment on former Bush administration and McCain campaign staffer Nicolle Wallace’s MSNBC show, guest Erroll Southers, formerly of the FBI, explained that the entire Republican Party needs to be labeled as “domestic terrorists.” That’s half the country!
He also erroneously claimed that 78% of murders in the U.S. from 2009-2019 were committed by white supremacists before correcting himself on Twitter.
Why is MSNBC allowing guests to call half of the country terrorists? First, it was anyone who supported Trump. Then, it was parents speaking out at school board meetings. Now, it’s anyone who votes Republican.
What’s next? Is reciting the Pledge of Allegiance an act of terror? Is standing for the national anthem considered inciting violence? Something’s not right when anyone who stands for American’s key values is considered a bad guy.
In past generations, those from oppressive countries would look to the U.S. as a land of freedom and refuge. Now that’s becoming more limited. Only certain states now position themselves as the land of freedom, especially following the government overreach of the pandemic, with places like Florida and Texas leading the way while progressive states continue to suffer.
