When a Minnesota politician didn’t get the result he wanted after telling a police officer he was a state representative, he went on a tirade, bashing the officer as a racist. Although he doesn’t come right and say words to the effect he is immune from tickets because he holds political office, people who watch the officer’s body cam video may be inclined to think it’s implied.
But on this The DC Shorts exclusive, Minnesota State Rep. John Thompson gets way more than he bargained for after slandering an officer for racial profiling.
It’s abundantly clear that Rep. Thompson would have joyfully driven away without issue if the patrolman didn’t write him up. But once the ticket appeared, he sinks to a disgraceful level of claiming he was stopped for “Driving While Black.”
Voters in his district might expect better conduct from someone they appointed to be their spokesman. Unfortunately, bashing the police remains par for the course for Democrats in places like Minnesota, where they want to defund the police.
Following the incident, the police chief demanded Rep. Thompson apologize for his unfounded accusations about a righteous traffic stop. The driver sped from a stop, and the vehicle had no front plate. The officer also discovers Thompson’s license was suspended.
The larger problem for Thompson is that he represents a Minnesota district that requires officials to live there and has a Wisconsin driver’s license. If that little caveat piques your interest, you won’t believe how much hot water the police-bashing Democrat is in after investigative journalists take a long look at him. Is this dude related to Mad Max Waters? Gets pulled over in Minnesota for legit infractions. Minnesota license is suspended so he has license from a different state. Has multiple vehicle code violations, albeit minor, but violations nonetheless. Instead of facing up to the fact that he is not in compliance with the law, he pulls the race card out. This is an obvious attempt to deflect guilt, and fan the B.S. flames of racism. Just own up to your mistakes, and deal with it! Its your fault you broke the law and nobody but you is to blame!! He wouldn’t have went on such a tirade if the officer had let him go!!!! Democrats think they are above the law as we see on a daily basis.
