Mike Pence Seems to be Distancing Himself from President Trump

What’s going on with Vice President Mike Pence?

Recently, the popular leader was seen in his home state of Indiana giving a speech about tax reform. But as political consultant Ed Rollins tells Fox’s Lou Dobbs, there may be more to this story than Pence simply acting as a surrogate for President Donald Trump.

Back in May of this year, Pence created a political action committee (PAC) called the Great America Committee, that some speculated would pave the way for a presidential role for Pence in 2020 — or perhaps earlier, if Democratic machinations against President Trump ultimately prove to be more successful than they’ve been thus far.

Meanwhile, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is continuing his investigations into Russian collusion and focusing on people such as former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn and Trump son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner. The worry is that one or more of these “little fish” might “flip” on Trump and testify against him in exchange for immunity in unrelated criminal cases. This could accelerate and enhance Democratic efforts to impeach the president.

But Pence should know that unless — and until — an impeachment were to come to pass, he needs to support and promote the president as much as possible.

Watch, as Lou Dobbs and Ed Rollins discuss Pence’s curious speech.
