Migrants from Countries Racked by Ebola, Tuberculosis, Measles Crossing Our Southern Border

There’s so much more to border security than anyone is discussing. Sure, the United States is still the land of opportunity. It’s perfectly reasonable for struggling people in other countries to want to come here and make a better life. No one begrudges them this. The problem with unfettered immigration is that it comes with dire consequences for everyone involved.

The first of those consequences is sometimes mentioned, but not nearly enough. Our current immigration system is a boon to human traffickers. Since we go soft on anyone with children, human traffickers are incentivized to smuggle children across our border. Those children don’t end up in loving foster homes. They get run back and forth across the border. What’s worse is that they’ll get higher priority with our border agents if they’re sick. Guess how the evil traffickers exploit that.

Another problem that has recently been proven is the risk of terrorism. It’s not too hard to imagine a small terrorist cell blending into the massive groups swarming across the border every day. We’ve already seen them trying this, and that puts the immigrants in just as much danger as the Americans who are ultimately being targeted.

The very biggest danger is probably the spread of disease. The illegal immigration strategy is to cross in groups large and dense enough to overwhelm border agents. Those groups are ripe for spreading the worst diseases in the world. This isn’t a theory. It’s happening right now, and this video has the details. If you want to know just how dangerous illegal immigration is, take a look.
