Two things can be true at once. First, President Trump has done an impressive job of fighting back against the border crisis with exactly zero Congressional help. Second, even with those efforts, our border is in shambles. It has been in shambles since the 80s, and the Democrats have worked tirelessly to keep it that way for decades.
What you need to understand is that this isn’t an accident or happenstance. Millions of illegal crossings can’t happen every year unless they have help. That’s doubly true for migrants coming from south of Mexico. It takes multiple stages of security failures and outright aid to the migrants for this problem to reach what we have seen.
