What a low blow! MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski was slammed recently for reporting on-air a rumor that First Lady Melania Trump wants out of her marriage with President Donald Trump. There’s just one problem — the rumor is totally false; it was crafted out of whole cloth either by Brzezinski, her staff or at least one of her show’s informal “contributors.”
Brzezinski isn’t the only one to be guilty of promulgating this story; news outlets from the New York Post to Business Insider have said as much in their various articles and columns, all backed up by not much more than “expert analysis” of a few photos and/or body language observed at official ceremonies and presidential visits. In more than a few cases, these outlets have easily been proven wrong by looking not at photos, but at videos from the aforementioned events, which often rapidly clarifies the situation.
Talk about misleading… Is this what masquerades as journalism these days?
Melania gets the last laugh on Brzezinski by responding quickly and appropriately to this offensive nonsense. When will the mainstream media learn that fake news only undermines its journalistic integrity and causes a further erosion of faith in America’s ‘Fourth Estate’? Watch as Melania’s savvy tactics have only increased America’s respect for her and the First Family in general.
