Well, folks, here we go again—another Democrat-run city throwing the First Amendment under the bus, this time with a parade float.
In Dearborn, Michigan, a Christian man dared to speak up at a city council meeting. His crime? He had the audacity to question why his city was honoring a man with ties to Hezbollah and Hamas. And for that, the city’s mayor told him he’s “not welcome” in the city. You read that right: a sitting mayor told a tax-paying American citizen to get out of town—for having an opinion.
Let’s rewind. Edward “Ted” Barham showed up to a Dearborn City Council meeting to voice his concern about new street signs honoring Osama Siblani, an Arab-American media figure with a long history of praising terrorist organizations. This isn’t some “conspiracy theory.” Barham even quoted Siblani directly: “The blood of the martyrs irrigates the land of Palestine… everyone should fight within his means… with stones, guns, planes, drones, and rockets.”
Now, most sane people would hear that and say, “Yeah, maybe we shouldn’t be giving this guy a street sign.” But not Dearborn’s Mayor Abdullah Hammoud. Nope. Instead of addressing the concern, he went full meltdown mode.
“The best suggestion I have for you is to not drive on Warren Avenue or to close your eyes while you’re doing it,” Hammoud said, smirking. Then he called Barham a racist, a bigot, and—of course—the magic word: Islamophobe. And just for good measure, he told him, “You are not welcome here.” Oh, and if Barham ever moves out of town? The mayor promised to throw a parade. Classy.
The mayor needs to be investigated for 18 USC 242 violations.
Did the mayor’s conduct go beyond mere words? Did he instruct his underlings to harass and retaliate against “Islamophobic” citizens?@HarmeetKDhillon @AAGDhillon https://t.co/9Ja7c2Qx0M

Let’s get something straight. This wasn’t some random heckler. This was a local resident participating in a public forum to express concern over public street signs. But rather than listen, Mayor Hammoud decided to publicly exile the guy. Like a tyrant in a bad action movie.
What makes this even more ridiculous is that the city didn’t even put the signs up. Wayne County did. That’s right—the city had no control over it, but the mayor still used the opportunity to humiliate a Christian man in front of everyone. Clearly, this wasn’t about local jurisdiction. This was about power, ego, and silencing dissent.
And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room. Dearborn has the highest percentage of Muslim residents in the country. That’s fine—freedom of religion works both ways. But political leaders are supposed to represent *everyone*, not just the people who agree with them. When a mayor tells a Christian citizen he’s “not welcome” because he doesn’t support glorifying a terrorist cheerleader, that’s not democracy. That’s bigotry—plain and simple.
Now, imagine if the roles were reversed. Imagine a Christian mayor told a Muslim resident to leave town for objecting to a street named after someone who praised far-right extremists. The media would be in full meltdown mode. CNN would be live on the scene. The DOJ would probably open a civil rights investigation.
But when it’s a Christian getting told to shut up and get out? Crickets.
This is what happens when woke politics runs wild. They don’t want unity. They want silence. They don’t want a melting pot. They want control. And if you speak up—especially if you’re Christian, conservative, and unapologetically American—they’ll do everything they can to shut you down.
But here’s the thing: Americans are waking up. People are watching. And they’re not going to stay silent much longer. Because the only thing more dangerous than a mayor who says “you’re not welcome here” is a country that lets him get away with it.
