Manhattan’s New District Attorney is REFUSING to Prosecute Most Crimes

Anyone hoping for a comeback for the Big Apple probably shouldn’t have voted for Mayor Eric Adams. Mayor Adams is an ex-cop who ran on a “tough-on-crime” platform. That platform, however, is a total lie and voters are immediately seeing Democrats lied their way into office. Adam’s new “progressive” District Attorney Alvin Bragg has already announced plans to stop prosecuting certain crimes and to lower the punishment for most others.

In a sweeping policy memo recently, Bragg, whose job is to protect the public, issued a breathtakingly liberal policy memo stating that his office will:

  • only seek prison time for homicide and a limited number of other charges, including white-collar crime
  • downgrade to misdemeanors many felonies include cases of armed robberies
  • refuse to even prosecute many “low-level” offenses (e.g., resisting arrest, marijuana violations, prostitution)

The DA’s soft-on-crime policies come in the wake of a new surge in violent crime in Manhattan (and across the U.S.). The NYPD December 2021 stats show that shootings, murders, and auto grand larceny have just about doubled and murder is up 50 percent in this liberal enclave as compared to 2019.

Yet, Mayor Adams expressed support for this insanity. His bland comment during a recent press conference was, “I like Alvin. I believe that he’s going to be a good district attorney.”

The Mayor continued, “…and I’m going to sit down and have a conversation with him as we build out what we need to do around public safety.”

Those who are genuinely concerned about protecting the public hope that His Honor’s conversation will acknowledge that public safety is about getting criminals off the street and behind bars.

    1. I believe with all my heart the Democrats are Evil to their very Core. They are perverts like those that ran Sodom in times of the old Testament. We are fast approaching the end of being able to be forgiven and God someday and I believe it may be sooner than we think will bring it to a end. I say this not to scare but because I love everyone and even those I dislike I do not wish Hell upon them.

  1. Proves you can’t trust or believe a democrat when their lips are moving. The cities and states being over run by crime deserve everything they voted for. Failure to protect their communities by voting for soft on crime mayors, das, and board members. Best thing people who are for a tough on crime stance is to move to a state or city run by common sense not by rainbow farting unicorn believers.

    1. And just when the mayoral title changed hands you THOUGHT that some semblance of sanity was going to take place in NYC……… NOPE

      SAME OLD STORY…DIFFERENT MAYOR

  2. NY has gone down the tubes. It’s a shame. Now we have thousands of NYers moving Fl. These NY will ruin Fl by voting for Democrats. Sick sick sick.

    1. Lived there and if they don’t or won’t change affiliations they should be made to keep moving to maybe Cuba or Venezuela.

  3. These people who are voted into office somehow feel that they don’t have to do the job that they were hired for that they don’t work for the people, and they think they work for themselves. When you are hired as a district attorney you take a pledge to uphold the law in the Constitution the laws are on the books when someone breaks the laws up to the district attorney to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

  4. Looks like it’s time to adhere to the second amendment. If these so called DAs who are put in place to protect citizens and provide safety fail the people then the people need to use the second amendment. It’s in place to protect yourself , property and family from the likes of these tyrannical dictators. If they won’t protect you then protect yourselves.

    1. Ron: As long as you start at the top ( biden on down) with the 2nd Amendment and clean out the complete entire government infested Swamp of all the liberal demorat CockRoaches in the Swamp. And put it back together with the Constitution and Bill of Rights and stick to them.

  5. Well, voters put them in office…over and over again creating their own pain……no sympathy. Not our job to fix stupid.
