During the run-up to the 2020 elections, the New York Times ran a hit piece on President Trump about Russia putting bounties on American troops heads. The story was meant to make it look like President Trump knew about this and did nothing to protect our troops, as if he didn’t care about the men and women fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Despite Putin working cooperatively with former President Trump, and having no corroborating evidence from other sources, the New York Times reported that “Russia Secretly Offered Afghan Militants Bounties to Kill U.S. Troops, Intelligence Says.”
But we now know, confirmed by our intelligence community, that this story was all a lie. The New York Times either got it wrong — again — or purposefully lied to make President Trump look bad. If you are wondering why this story continues to haunt the nation, hold on to your seats.
This hoax handed the rudderless Joe Biden campaign leverage against Trump back when this story came out in 2019. The biased media hounded the President Trump on how he would retaliate against Russian aggression. Each time the Republican explained it was a false story, the media mob circled the wagons. They went out of their way to falsely claim they had confirmed what came to be known as Bounty-Gate.
Now that the election is over and the media’s preferred candidate is making a fool of the country from the Oval Office, they’re walking back the allegations. This comes after fact-checkers in the establishment media went on the record giving Mr. Trump a “four Pinocchio” rating for telling the truth.
Although these strategic attacks on Republican candidates remain commonplace, its up to voters to understand the media mob’s methods. Too many people got scammed during the 2020 elections, and that cannot stand. The fate of the next election may come down to spotting fake news reports and demanding the country regain an honest media. After watching this video, many of their tricks will look transparent.
