Thanksgiving is racist, of course, according to MSNBC, whose latest “expert” claims the “mythology” of Thanksgiving matches the mythology of American history.
So instead of pilgrims and Native Americans sharing a meal together and thanking God, it was Europeans stealing the land of indigenous people and preparing the way for African slavery. Well, it might sound like a fun soundbite for the left, but rewriting history is much different than actually studying it.
Yes, we would all admit a lot of bad stuff happened in America’s past. The treatment of Native Americans ranks near the top of the bad stuff. But that doesn’t mean Thanksgiving didn’t happen. There are many examples of European and Native people living and working together peacefully.
But instead of letting Americans enjoy their turkey and pumpkin pie, MSNBC wants to racially divide us and make white Americans feel guilty for stuff people who have the same skin tone as them and who lives 5 generations ago did. When you cry “racism” over everything, eventually people will stop listening.
It’s not all about bad white guys and everyone else being oppressed. There are also many stories of people working together and treating each other like, well, people. It’s something MSNBC could learn from as we focus on the Thanksgiving season. Take a look now for the unique commentary from Mark Dice available now.
