Kevin McCarthy Proposes We Replace Our Current Income Tax System with a National Sales Tax

Republicans have been in control of the House of Representatives for less than a month and they’ve already made some major proposals that are guaranteed to piss off the establishment!

For example, one of the biggest problems with America today is our tax system. Not only is it convoluted and skewed to punish high earners, but it also taxes an individual on multiple levels.

This means that the government is dipping their hands in your pocket every chance they get!

As it stands now, citizens are required to pay an income tax – taking a percentage off of total earnings and then pay an additional sales tax when spending that already taxed money.

Surely you can see how this disturbing government double dip is not exactly fair to Americans and leaves us paying FAR more taxes than we should.

Republicans want to change that!

The newly proposed system would abolish the income tax and create a system where all tax is paid during a sale, via a national sales tax.

Doing this would allow Americans to keep more of their money, while encouraging more spending which would ultimately stimulate the economy.

While the GOP doesn’t have the necessary control over the government to turn this proposal into a reality at this time, it does offer some interesting insight into where the Republican party could be heading in the future.

Is the end of the dreadful income tax coming sooner than we think? Watch the video here to see what that might mean for you!

  1. I’m a republican but listen and listen good anything the government is involved in turns to shit!! I agree wholeheartedly our tax system is screwed up but now you’ll be taxed on EVERYTHING you purchase!!! We have a gas tax that is both federal and state but yet we have toll roads so we pay a tax 3 times to drive FREELY!!!! They forced everyone to have medical( Obamacare) that didn’t work plus you see how well the government runs veterans medical. Being a vet it stinks. If you want to see real government in action just look to the south at our southern border! Those policies in place work great?!!! So before we rejoice about doing away with income tax just look at some of our other policies both Democrats Republicans!!!!!!

  2. THE ONLY FAIR TAX IS A NATIPONAL SALES WITH SOME UNTAXABLE ITEMS THAT ARE EXEMPT FROM TAX, SUCH AS FOOD MEDICINE HOUSING AND INHERITANCE TAX . GET RID OF THAT PHONY JACK BOOTED THUGS CAQLLED YHE IRS, A PRIVATE CORPORATION. YOU PHONY JERKS IN CONGRESS ARE NOT FOOLIN GEVERYONE. WE ARE AWARE OF YOUR BULLSHIT , COWARDICE ACTIONS. HAVE THE BALLS TO DO SOMETHING THE RIGHT WAY .WE ARE WATCHING.

  3. Does anyone notice that what is NOT being addressed is the governmental SPENDING which creates the need to tax for the funds to support the spending. The shell games being played thru national economic manipulation can be stopped with control of spending. The gold standard was a form of this control. Budgeting is another.

The continuing devaluation of our money and unconscionable abuse of our economic systems by governmental leaders needs to be corrected. True leaders must be found to have the morality and strength of character to determine the necessary corrections.

  4. Sales tax puts the burden of collecting on the seller. This is ripe for Black market selling. This is also too easy to “hide” in the wide open. How many people now even consideer the sales taxes dumped on them? How many even know what their state sales tax is! Does this mean that states must eliminate their Income tax, too, since most of them rely on the Fed for initial paperwork & numbers? Or eliminate their sales tax?
Flat tax. This would be ALL federal payroll taxes. The proverbial “note card” tax. Income earned, knock off the 1st 20K, knock off certain write-offs such as charity, uninsured medical costs, catastrophic losses, age/disability, maybe mortgage (as a % of balance), and then a flat 20% of the adjusted amount.
Also, make this payable and due 1x a year, that way ALL see exactly what they give Uncle Sam. I guess that there could be a “payment plan” made available for monthly payments, but take it off payroll and off the hands of employers.

  5. What they are taking about is the FAIRTAX, it was developed more than 20 years ago as the fairest tax system ever! It should have been passed decades ago! No one pays taxes for the basic necessities below the poverty level, no business to business tax, the tax is only on New goods and services at the retail level! Research HR25!

  6. THE IRS is the biggest SCAM IN AMERICA, They need to go and The Rich is getting richer by the minute. THEY DON’T HAVE TO PAY TAXES WHICH IS A BUNCH OF CRAP. THE DEMOCRATS ARE GETTING RICHER OFF OF AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE HAVE TO PAY TAXES ON EVERYTHING WE BUY . GAS, GROCERIES, ELECTRIC , GAS FOR OUR CARS . EVERYTIME YOU TURN AROUND YOU HAVE TO PAYING TAXES ON SOMETHING . YOU GO TO CANADA THEY DON’T HAVE TO PAY TAXES ON FOOD OR ANYTHING THERE. THEY HAVE DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR HEALTH CARE EITHER. HERE WE ARE PAYING AND ARM AND LEG FOR HEALTH CARE AND MEDICINE. WHICH IS A BULLCRAP AND MAKING THE MEDICAL SYSTEM RICHER.

  7. I favor a flat tax. This way everybody has some “skin in the game.” Set it at about 8% and pay it once a year based on your net earnings after S/S. No deductions to figure, no hedging, or complex formula required.

  8. Dinnesh is right about a lot of what he said except one large point. The FAIRtax is not regressive. Everyone Citizen receives a monthly payment from the Federal Government that is based on an estimate of the taxes that would be spent on purchases of new products and services up to the top of the poverty level. The FAIRtax has enough revenue to keep Social Security funded!

The FAIRtax is best for people that don’t spend a lot. They can actually make a profit from it. The more you spend the more taxes you pay. A family with an annual expenses of about $60,000 would pay about 11.5% taxes. So when people say the tax rate is about 30% they are only speaking about the percent you pay on new products and services but they don’t mention the prebate money you receive.

Your income will go up. That’s not normally mentioned either. The FICA and Social Security tax is not paid anymore. Both employee and employer. Many employers will continue to pay employees some portion of what their current contributions.

Any kind of consumption (sales) tax is a lot better than our complex income tax. We had no federal income tax until congress implemented it in 1913 with the promise to only tax the rich. It’s so complicated because they try to make tons of exceptions that end up causing more changes in other places. Way too complicated.
