Fox News reporter Kristin Fisher asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki why Vice President Kamala Harris hasn’t commented on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s accusers. She asked, “At what point is the first female Vice President going to say something about this?”
When Justice Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual harassment during his nomination hearing for the U.S. Supreme Court, then Senator Harris strongly argued that she believed the accusers. Yet the third accuser against Cuomo, a New York Democrat, even served on the Biden-Harris campaign, with Harris saying nothing.
Psaki answered that women’s voices should be heard and there will be an investigation. Fisher continued to note Psaki’s response is appreciated, but is not the same as Vice President Harris speaking out on the issue.
Harris had no problem speaking to media and the American public against Kavanaugh. Why the distinction now?
The one clear difference is Cuomo’s political party. As a Democrat, Cuomo apparently receives a free pass from the Democrat-controlled White House. Unless Cuomo suddenly changes parties, the answer to when Harris will speak out against his accusers is most likely never.
