Joe Biden Taps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Lead Climate Change Task Force

David Harsanyi of National Review wrote at the beginning of the month that the reason former Vice President Joe Biden won’t release his position papers is because they “would likely force Biden to explain why he’s made a 180 on virtually all notable policy stances.”

Tucker Carlson noted on his Fox News show that nothing illustrates Biden’s lack of commitment to any “core beliefs” more than his choice of New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to lead his climate change task force.

AOC would have been Biden’s last choice at the beginning of the primaries because he was firmly against the Green New Deal. But as Harsanyi noted, “If, however, Biden’s case for the presidency is predicated on his nearly 50 years of ‘public service,’ he is a failure without many peers. This is not my position; this is Joe Biden’s position.”

Ocasio-Cortez said at an event in 2019, “I will be damned if the same politicians who refused to act then are going to try to come back today and say, ‘We need a middle-of-the-road approach to save our lives.’”

That came after Reuters reported Biden was developing a climate change plan that “will appeal to both environmentalists and the blue-collar voters who elected Donald Trump.”

It all makes one wonder who “will be damned” in this one.
