You thought your kid’s school had problems? Try sending them to class in a district run by an illegal alien with a rap sheet and a fake degree. Welcome to Des Moines Public Schools, folks – where the superintendent might be hiding in the bushes from ICE officers while still cashing checks on your dime.

Dr. Ian Andre Roberts – and yes, we’re using “doctor” very loosely here – was the handpicked superintendent of Iowa’s largest public school district. That’s 63 schools and over 30,000 students. And who picked him? A school board made up entirely of Democrats, including Board Chair Jackie Norris, Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff. So, obviously, they know what they’re doing, right?
Wrong.
Let’s run through Dr. Roberts’s resume: Born in Guyana. Overstayed his visa. Arrested on a gun charge in Pennsylvania back in 2020. Ordered deported in May 2024. Did he leave? Of course not. When ICE finally caught up to him last week, he took off in his car and was eventually found hiding in some bushes. Inside the car? A loaded gun, a fixed-blade hunting knife, and a pile of cash. It’s like a scene out of a bad crime show.
Oh, and one more thing – he doesn’t even appear to have a real degree. His bio claims he earned a “Doctorate in education urban education leadership” from St. John’s University. But good luck finding that degree listed anywhere on the school’s website.
Meanwhile, this guy was being paid $270,000 a year – plus a tax-sheltered annuity, plus $600 a month for his car – thanks to Iowa taxpayers. That’s over $315,000 a year for a guy who isn’t even legally allowed to work in the United States.
Now, try becoming a public school teacher. You’ll be fingerprinted, background-checked in all 50 states, tested for drugs, and checked against every sex offender and abuse registry known to man. But apparently, if you want to be the top dog running the whole district? Just lie about your degree, sneak into the country, and get arrested with a weapon. Easy!
And here’s the real kicker: Even after his deportation order, Des Moines Public Schools kept Roberts on the payroll. He’s now on paid leave, raking in $22,500 a month while sitting in ICE custody and waiting to be shipped back. That’s right – the man is literally sitting in a government holding facility and still collecting a taxpayer-funded paycheck.
But instead of admitting they screwed up, the school board and their Democrat pals are attacking ICE. Progress Iowa held a press conference to cry about the “fascist regime” in America. According to them, if a guy like Roberts isn’t safe, nobody is.
You’re darn right. If this is who’s running your schools, nobody’s safe – especially not your kids.
This is what happens when Democrats run your local government like a private club. They hired this guy behind closed doors, refused to answer questions, and now they’re pretending they’re the victims. And guess what? This isn’t just an Iowa problem. This is happening in districts all over the country where nobody’s paying attention.

While conservatives were busy minding their own business, the Left was sneaking illegal aliens with criminal records into six-figure jobs running public education.
