Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) town hall meeting this week jumped up and sprayed her with a liquid. It’s being portrayed by the media as a “hate crime” that was encouraged by Donald Trump’s rhetoric.
Let’s get real and call this what it is: Ilhan Omar likely pulled a Jussie Smollett-style hoax to garner public sympathy for herself.
Since the “attack” happened, investigators have identified the substance that she was sprayed with. It was apple cider vinegar. So, she was never in any danger.
Why is she pulling a hoax like this right now? Because the Trump administration has her under criminal investigation. Ilhan Omar’s personal wealth somehow skyrocketed from around $0 in 2023 to over $30 million in 2024, and now she’s worth more than $40 million today. That’s according to her own financial disclosures.
There’s no way that Ilhan Omar and her husband came up with that amount of cash in such a short amount of time. She’s in real trouble and this hoax to garner sympathy is her reaction to that. It’s really that simple.
