Any crooked politician or wealthy person will use whatever means to protect their money. To hell with the rest of us who pay taxes or get fined. We can vote them out just as easily. Most would like term limits on congress, but since congress is the one who sets this law it isn’t going to happen. So, it is up to use, the voters, to vote them out. Come 2022 and 2024 let’s see who actually does this. No one should be in congress for more than 8 years. After that they get complacent and seem to forget why they are there. They work for one year then politic to be re-elected the next few years. Only the voters can change the way things are.

I have always wondered why few ever mention the actual facts on taxes? For example the top 10% of wage earners pay over 80% of all tax revenue (local, state, federal, sales & property). The next 40% of wage earners contribute about an additional 16%-18% to tax revenue. The entire bottom 50+% of wage earners contribute 3%-4% of total tax revenue. Remember the comment by Mitt Romney when he ran for President about the 47% of the country that paid little of no taxes and would not be influenced by a tax cut? That number is over 50% now and rising! You have to remember when there is a tax cut it does disproportionately affect the “rich” as they are the one’s paying the taxes in the first place. Our political system has made the top 50% the suppliers of revenue and the bottom 50% the takers of revenue. Is there any doubt as to why people vote as they do on tax issues?
There are direct taxes you mentioned and then there are the “insidious “ taxes that we pay daily. By this I mean the inflation that is standard for the FED. First of all they don’t count costs that we pay for food and energy in the fake inflation rate they cite even though almost every one has to buy both. Don’t get me started about inflation of medical care and insurance. If you think that corporations pay their taxes, you’re not doing your homework. The consumer and the equity holders pays those. Then there is the final tax insult to people who have “capital gains “. I have always called myself an “Independent” as far as politics go, but after what I have witnessed thus far in 2021 with the “Tax and Spend” and “Redistribution of Wealth” core attributes of the White House and Democratic party agenda I can now say I am a “Never-Democrat”! It has become so obvious that democratic Tax dollars are being used to buy lower income votes is has become shocking to everyone but those who benefit. As far as the negative mention of “Loopholes” they are in reality legal deductions for everyone! I am not rich by any means but I donate to the Children’s Hospital and other local non-profits each year in order to receive the income tax deduction thus reducing my tax obligation. This should be considered standard effort for all Americans as it drives the revenue for non-profits and for corporations allows them to invest in new machinery, wages, etc., thus driving the economy! For all the other taxes like Sales Tax, property tax, gas tax, real Estate tax that are flat taxes, the wealthy spend more money so they pay more of the taxes in these areas.
