Hospice Nurse Reveals The 2 Phrases Most People Call Out Right Before They Die

A hospice nurse has revealed what most people say before they die as she spoke out about how we end our lives in a new video from The New York Post.

The Post notes that Julie, a registered nurse from Los Angeles, California, has worked in a hospice for around five years. The nurse has been using her expertise and knowledge to educate her 372,400 TikTok followers about death.

Her heart-warming comments as well as her love for her job have led to her videos going viral with people desperate to know about what to expect when they pass away.

“I love educating patients and families about what to expect with hospices and what to expect with the specific disease they are dying from. I also really like giving the patient and family some comfort knowing we will be there to manage their symptoms about hospices,” she said.

What do most people say right before they pass? There are two common phrases. They both relate to people, not things, which is a powerful reminder as we often focus on the stuff around us rather than our relationship. But you’ll have to watch the video to discover the exact wording she shares. It may inspire you to live differently today.

    1. “Watch video for what ? Death quotes ! Sucks really bad !”

Indeed! Especially when the last remark is “Oh, s**t!”

  1. My wife of 55 years passed on 5-18-2021. She couldn’t move or hardly speak, but she smiled almost the whole time she was in the Hospital from a stroke. Her last two words, spaced by a few minutes, was JESUS and then JESUS. I hope I can go the same way. Ron

  2. Making people watch the video in order to find out the 2 words most often used by dying patients. Yuk ! You can always Google it. Most of the time, you will find the answers w/o having to listen to the video. I’m thinking the words are: I Love You and Forgive Me.

  3. I bet their words were, “I can’t believe I watched that time-sucking video. I should have had coffee with my family!”

  4. I think it’s a private and personal experience and I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business. Except who is with that person. I myself will probably say “let’s go Branden”!

  5. I was a pastor for 20 years, and then hospital chaplain for 2, followed by hospice Chaplain for 13 years. People being who they are most often die as they have lived.. some exceptions of course. What is on the video isn’t a surprise.. but what never ceases to amaze me is how people who are mad at themselves (for watching a video) and take it on the person posting. Remember, you chose to watch… if you didn’t like it that’s your choice too. (in Clinical Pastoral Education we studied our reactions to things for better self understanding). Remember that not everyone agrees with you… especially if all you do is snark. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

  6. My dad died in 2019. His words before he died…I love you. And yes, he spoke about being with someone…maybe his dad, right before he died. It is true.
