Liz Wheeler reports for One America News Network that Hollywood has sold its soul to China and Communists. On her nightly show, the Tipping Point, she says she knows why the upcoming sequel to the ionic movie Top Gun has made a subtle yet troubling shift in its view of America.
The Heritage Foundation’s Mike Gonzalez has been warning Americans theatergoers for a while now that there has been a major revolution in filmmaking because of the Chinese market. He told his listeners on Washington Watch, “Hollywood does all kinds of things to make sure they have a slice of the Chinese pie. And they’re quite open about it. They don’t hide it. They’re quite happy to submit to the censorship of the Chinese Communist Party.”
According to some experts, the film industry’s love affair with China is all about the Benjamins. Hollywood studios are accepting money from Chinese film groups in record numbers, it is the biggest (but least talked about) partnership in Tinseltown and as Tom Perkins of the Family Research Council “the most dangerous.”
It’s doubtful most Americans have any idea when they purchase a ticket to the latest must-see blockbuster it was at least partially financed by the Chinese government or the Chinese communist political party.
China’s huge potential viewing market is hard to ignore. However, nothing makes it to that market without first being subjected to government standards that dictate some themes cannot be portrayed, certain products must be taken out, and whole scripts rewritten.
