Hollywood Awards: Political Puppetry on Red Carpet Display

Hollywood is at it again—using red carpets as soapboxes and award shows as political rallies. Because apparently, nothing says “best actor” like a pin supporting an anti-ICE activist who was fatally shot after allegedly trying to ram a federal officer with her car.

At Sunday’s Golden Globes, the usual lineup of liberal celebrities—Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes, and others—showed up wearing “Be Good” pins in honor of Renee Good. She’s the anti-ICE activist who was killed during what authorities say was a domestic terror attack. But don’t expect these Hollywood types to mention that little detail.

When HBO’s Bill Maher was asked about the pins, he didn’t even try to hide his laughter. “We’re just here for show business today,” he said, practically rolling his eyes at the virtue-signaling circus around him.

Maher didn’t stop there. “It was a terrible thing that happened, and it shouldn’t have happened,” he said. “But I don’t need to wear a pin about it.” He added, “If they didn’t act like such thugs, it wouldn’t have had to happen.” It’s unclear who he was calling thugs—federal officers or leftist rioters—but either way, the message was clear: enough with the Hollywood drama.

Mark Ruffalo, never one to skip a rant, used his pin to unload on President Trump. He called Trump a “convicted felon,” a “rapist,” and even a “pedophile.” No evidence, just wild accusations—because that’s how the Left operates now. Ruffalo also claimed, “We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela,” which must be news to everyone, including the Pentagon.

Wanda Sykes took her own swipe at Maher later in the show, saying, “Bill Maher, you give us so much. But I would love a little less.” That might be the only time we agree with her—less of all of them would be great.
