One of the first stops President Trump made in his reelection campaign was on January 4th to a boisterous applause from a Hispanic mega-church in Miami. His biggest applause came when told the crowd, “America was not built by religion-hating socialists. America was built by church-going, God-worshiping, freedom-loving patriots.”
Former Florida Republican congressman Carlos Curbelo worried the thousands of Hispanics might not appreciate Trump’s stump speech about “building the wall” and “deport all illegals.” He said Trump’s visit is “not without risk, because I don’t think the president’s immigration policies are very popular among the congregation.”
But when Trump referenced immigration — ensuring the border wall will be completed and U.S. immigration law loopholes will be closed – it drew a prolonged and loud ovation from the crowd.
A Pew Research Center 2018 survey found that 36% of Hispanic evangelical Christians approved of Trump’s job performance. That was half that of white evangelicals but significant for a minority group Democrats have tended to act like they own.
A Trump campaign ad proclaimed, “We’ve seen socialism completely FAIL in countries like Venezuela and Greece,” before asking voters to take an “official socialism approval poll.”
Considering the results of that poll, it’s no wonder Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren can get no traction among Latinos or Hispanics. They still remember the socialist nightmare of Cuba and Central America.
Watch the video as Tim Pool cuts through the hypocrisy Democrats have tried to pull over on Latinos and Hispanics in America. Sorry Democrats, they aren’t buying your socialism promises.
