What is futility? Most of the time, it feels like trying to convince a leftist that their political elites have lied to them. Think about it. These people are so rabid that they believe Rep. Ilhan Omar is not anti-Semitic. She’s proposing legislation that supports the destruction of any Jewish state. In the face of that, the left defends her.
Leftists openly support socialism. They look at tens of millions of deaths over the last hundred years and smile. They think that destroying the power of the wealthy will be worth the sacrifice, all while ignoring the reality that socialism consolidates economic and political power in even fewer hands. It takes something special to think like these people.
Still, for all of the feelings of futility, we can’t give up. We can’t leave this country in the hands of lunatics. That would be suicide. So, we keep fighting. We keep education. We trudge through, and every once in a while, we get rewarded. Every now and then, a bona fide leftist actually says something reasonable. It’s usually surrounded by nonsense and lies, but you have to take those little victories.
