Hillary Wants to Get Rid of the Electoral College and Still Thinks the Russians are Why She Lost the Election

Hillary Clinton loves to criticize Donald Trump. She has suggested that he is every kind of evil: misogynist, racist, mentally incompetent, deplorable. She has never shied from saying he is unfit for the post and doesn’t understand enough about government to succeed. This could sound like a simple sore loser, but she continually demonstrates her own ignorance in the battle. She’ll never hesitate to tell you that she won the popular vote and thus, she should be president.

Here’s the thing. The President of the United States is not the leader of a democracy. He is the leader of a free republic. Democrats love to get this wrong. Maybe they cling too hard to the name of their party. Maybe ignorance is their favorite side dish. The point is that the Electoral College is a unique system that only applies to electing the president. It doesn’t come into play for Senators, Representatives, governors or anything else. It is there specifically to make the most powerful post in the country a hybrid of popular and geographic representation.

The House of Representatives is the democratic part of our system. It is directly controlled by popular vote. The Senate is entirely geographic. It doesn’t matter how many people a given Senator represents; each has the same voting power. The president is right in between the two, and it is no accident.

When Hillary claims that she should be president, she betrays her ignorance. She shows that she doesn’t understand the fundamental structure of our national government — something apparent to most sixth graders. Don’t take anyone’s word for it. Watch the video and listen to the words from her own mouth. While you’re at it, you can hear her far more disturbing ideologies that go with this dangerous ignorance.
