After self-serving politicians across the globe got a taste of ultimate power with the COVID lockdowns, many of us feared that it wouldn’t be the last time they did something of this sort.
The “trust the government” crowd labeled anybody who thought that as a “crazy conspiracy theorist.”
Well, it looks like the conspiracy theorists were right yet again!
Canadian Premier Tim Houston of the province Nova Scotia has announced what looks like the start of climate lockdowns, in the name of “fighting wildfires.”
In Canada, each province or territory has its own premier who acts sort-of like a governor does in the United States.
The Canadian politician stated that citizens are no longer allowed to enter the woods for hikes and other nature activities. Doing so in violation of the rules could result in a $25,000 fine!
“Conditions continue to be extremely dry. Until we get a significant amount of rain, we’re at an elevated risk of wildfires,” Houston said.
He added, “Most wildfires are caused by human activity, so to reduce the risk, we’re keeping people out of the woods until conditions improve. I’m asking everyone to do the right thing – don’t light that campfire, stay out of the woods and protect our people and communities.”
This mandate doesn’t explicitly lock people in their homes – yet. But it does keep them out of certain public places people go to enjoy themselves.
During COVID we saw government mandates and restrictions start out moderate, like this, before ultimately becoming COMPLETELY draconian.
First it was two weeks to stop the spread…then they closed the schools, restaurants, bars, beaches, etc. And then they wouldn’t let you back in until they had proof you took their government mandated medicine up your arm.
Similarly, the COVID lockdowns began in Canada in early March – and days later several U.S. states started doing the same.
Could we see the same here? Most of the states along the border near Nova Scotia are blue states and we all saw in 2020 and 2021 how much those governors loved their enhanced pandemic powers.
