Height of Hypocrisy: Chicago Mayor Busted for Not Staying at Home, Threatens Citizens who Do the Same with Arrest, Jail Time

Making herself the poster child of “draconian” measures, Lori Lightfoot, the Democrat Mayor of Chicago, is threatening residents with arrest and imprisonment if they violate her stay-at-home orders. She said on television Friday night after Chicago police officers broke up multiple large gatherings, “We will shut you down, we will cite you, and if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail.”

Not only is the mayor threatening to arrest law-abiding citizens but Chicago’s Cook County Jail has dwindled from 10,000 inmates to 4,200 because the Cook County Sheriff’s office has emptied cells of real criminals as a result of the “ongoing coronavirus pandemic.”

The editors of OffGrid Survival note the irony of releasing convicted career criminals to make room for those Mayor Lightfoot promises to have arrested, “While COVID-19 may be a threat to … mostly the elderly with existing medical problems … it is being politicized and used as a way to attack western culture, exterminate the American Dream, and destroy our livelihoods. It is nothing more than an attempt to push the socialist new world order on all of us.”

Thankfully, citizens in Chicago and all around the country are fighting back against this kind of grab for power. As you’ll see in the video below.

Watch to see how the citizens of Chicago immediately react to their Mayor threatening to arrest anyone who doesn’t abide by her shelter at home orders.
