Republican Senators usually can’t inspire anything more than contempt and high blood pressure in the average Republican voter. They’re just too weak.
Something remarkable happened at the RNC Convention in Milwaukee this week, however. Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle showed up at the hall and a group of GOP Senators chased her out of the building!
We have no idea why Director Cheatle decided to show up at the RNC Convention. It’s not as if she’s some closeted Trump supporter.
Reports indicate that she is one of Jill Biden’s favorite members of the Secret Service—which means she must be truly loathsome and phony as an individual. Her friendship with Jill Biden is likely the only reason why Cheatle got the job of Secret Service Director.
Senators John Barrasso and Marsha Blackburn led the group of Republican Senators who initially cornered Cheatle at the event. They are two of the very few staunch Trump supporters in the Senate.
Barrasso demanded that Cheatle either resign immediately—on the spot—or start answering the questions that the group of Senators have for her right then and there.
Cheatle has so far refused to come testify before Congress and is openly defying subpoenas from the House and Senate. So is her boss, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
We never thought we’d see the day when Republican Senators would be brave enough to yell at someone and chase them out of a building. It just goes to show how passionate some of them likely are now that the Biden administration tried to have President Trump killed.
