It’s been a wild year. There were countless ups and downs. Can you believe the year started with a winter Olympics and the beginning of peace talks with North Korea? That almost feels like a lifetime ago. Well, with the year coming to a formal end, it’s time for everyone to make their best and worst of 2018. Before you watch this best-of, what were the highs for you?
Lists will certainly look different for liberals than they do for conservatives. A liberal’s favorite part of 2018 is probably retaking the House. They may also have loved the rise of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or the fall of Michael Cohen. One thing is for sure: they’ll look back and cringe about some of the things they praised in the moment (Stormy Daniels anyone?).
As for conservatives, we can’t say it’s been all wins, but a lot of things have certainly gone our way. While losing ground in the House, we had an historic gain in the Senate. The Central American caravan was stopped at the border for the first time in a decade. Let’s not forget the win with Brett Kavanaugh. The left really went all-out on that one. We didn’t just see justice prevail; we also saw a lot of passive Republicans finally get in the fight. Lindsey Graham may have won the year with a single, impassioned speech.
While you muse over your personal highs and lows for the year, this video has compiled some top moments based on more concrete data. The very best moments from the right and left are probably nothing like you imagine. See for yourself.
