The Desert News reports that many Republicans are angry about the recently released phone conversation President Trump had with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
But it’s not the Washington Post that released the conversation. They are angry that a fellow Republican recorded and leaked the illegally taped phone call to the press.
Glenn Beck told his listeners on his radio show the Post used “selective editing” to fashion their usual hit piece. Beck said, “The way they edited that, if you listen to the conversation and you listen for context, you’ll see everything The Washington Post has(sic) claiming is yet another lie.”
Georgia Senator David Perdue said on Fox News Sunday night he was “shocked that a member of the Republican Party would tape a sitting president” and then proceed to leak the audio.
Chair of the Republican Party, David Schafer tweeted:
Mind-boggling that @GaSecofState and his lawyers would secretly record and release a confidential settlement conference with the President. I have made open records requests to the Secretary of State which have never been acknowledged or answered. This is lawlessness.
George H.W. Bush’s deputy attorney general, Donald Ayer claimed Trump’s call was a “horrendous effort to undermine our system of government,” but the facts prove quite differently.
