George Papadopoulos Details How the FBI and Mueller Tried to Entrap Him

George Papadopoulos appeared on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures to shed some light on a specific question Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif) posed to Special Counsel Robert Mueller at the Congressional hearing last week.

The former advisor to the 2106 Trump campaign told host Maria Bartiromo he was “very happy” to see Rep. Nunes grill Mueller about the summer of 2017 payment that he says led to his entrapment. Near the beginning of this interview, Papadopoulos lays out the circumstances of what happened. He says, “I was very happy to see that Devin Nunes brought that up … A man named Charles Tawil gave me this money … under very suspicious circumstances.”

This past May, Papadopoulos revealed to Bartiromo that he hoped Congress, Attorney General William Barr, U.S. Attorney John Huber, and Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, would follow the money trail back to its source and reveal who in the Deep State tried to set him up.

The episode that Mueller claimed to “have no knowledge of” began with a person who said he wanted to do business with Papadopoulos. “I was on vacation with my then-girlfriend now wife, in Greece,” he said, “and he comes to me why don’t you come to Israel with me and let’s talk about working together.”

At that meeting in Tel Aviv the man, Charles Tawil, dropped $10,000.00 in his lap. Papadopoulos said he became immediately suspicious. In fact, he was so disturbed by the encounter that when he returned to Athens, he gave the money to his attorney in Greece.
