Former US Ambassador to Syria on Assad’s future in Syria

Realistically, the recent missile attack on Syria has been a long time coming. The mess in Syria has been escalating throughout the Obama Administration, yet former president Obama failed to do act appropriately.

His idea of combating Syria was to send over our military to train and assist those in Syria fighting ISIS, but they did not assist in the actual conflict within the country. What happened was those now fully trained fighters turned coat and joined ISIS and other similar terrorist groups to fight Assad and our security forces.

President Trump decided enough was enough.

It is important to note the military attack from the United States does more or less dissolve any kind of idea that Trump is in the back pocket of Putin. Putin defends Assad and Syria. So, with the United States showing force against Assad, it points to Trump not having that kind of a back pocket connection with Putin.

What will happen with the United States, Russia and Syria is yet to be seen, yet most applaud Donald Trump for carrying out the attack. Many Syrian refugees say it should have happened years ago but approve of Donald Trump’s use of force against Assad.

But what does the future hold for Assad in Syria? Watch former US Ambassador to Syria explain what may happen with the dictator in the country.
