Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had strong words for President Biden again this week, slamming the government for giving more money to blue states than red states in the infrastructure bill.
“If you’re going to do something for states you don’t just give it to blue states. And the fact of the matter is we got less than our population share. New York, California got more than their population share simply because they tagged it to us having lower unemployment so they were penalizing us for managing the economy better and that’s wrong,” DeSantis said.
There’s a reason many Democrats pushed hard for the infrastructure bill. Projects in their home states relied on it. But DeSantis makes a good point. Why send more money to poorly managed states? Isn’t this wasteful? Doesn’t this encourage poor management?
Don’t confuse the left with logic. It seems like their minds are made up before the bills are even written. But the better option would be to incentive states that are excelling instead of punishing them with fewer federal dollars.
The whole system is slanted toward whoever is in power. This time, Democrats have taken huge swipes at whatever cash they can grab for their districts and states, whether it helps Americans or not.
DeSantis shares more, but you have to watch it for the full response now in the Forbes Breaking News video.
