Facebook Doxed Its Own User to Scare Conservatives into Silence

Laura Ingraham recently spoke with the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro about Facebook’s apparent willingness to “dox” its users.

For the uninitiated, doxing is the social media based practice of broadcasting the identity of an individual or organization. Aside from legitimate law enforcement, this is done to harm, shame, and/or harass whoever made the online post in question.

The case in question is a video posted of Nancy Pelosi a few weeks ago that had been slowed down to make her appear to be drunk or on drugs.

This doctored video was quickly discovered, and the media spent several days after that debunking the “drunk Pelosi” meme.

Watch this video and hear Shapiro explain the process The Daily Beast went through to find the alleged originator of the video and how readily Facebook provided the information of its creator.

While you might think The Daily Beast was pleased to get this information from Facebook, Shapiro explains why the opposite is true.

Facebook’s willingness to expose the author of the video exposes something about the social media giant it doesn’t want you to know.

Learn why Facebook has no problem in exposing the identity of someone who poked fun at Pelosi but is quick to block others on the site who do the very same thing.

Watch as Shapiro shows Ingraham why “anyone who claims to value privacy ought to be up in arms. And terrified.”
