Erika Kirk Backs JD Vance for 2028, Says TPUSA Will Lead the Charge

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative icon Charlie Kirk and the newly appointed CEO of Turning Point USA, delivered a powerful moment at AmericaFest this week—one that drew thunderous applause and set the stage for the future of the conservative movement.

Speaking before thousands of energized activists in Phoenix, Kirk formally endorsed Vice President JD Vance for president in 2028, making it clear that Turning Point USA intends to play a central role in carrying the America First torch forward.

“We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,” Kirk told the crowd, invoking both her late husband’s legacy and the movement he helped build.

The endorsement comes even though Vance has not announced a presidential campaign. In a recent interview, the vice president emphasized that his focus remains on serving alongside President Donald Trump and delivering results for the American people.

“My attitude is the American people elected me to be vice president,” Vance said. “I’m going to work as hard as I can to make the president successful.”

That loyalty—and record—are precisely why the endorsement matters.

Before his tragic assassination in August, Charlie Kirk was one of JD Vance’s earliest and loudest champions. He publicly urged President Trump to choose Vance as his running mate in 2024, recognizing him as a fighter who understood working-class Americans, national sovereignty, and the cultural rot threatening the country.

That bond went far beyond politics. After Kirk’s death, JD Vance and his wife immediately traveled to support Erika Kirk and personally escorted Charlie’s body back to Arizona. Vance later described Charlie as “a good friend,” a sentiment many in the movement know was genuine.

As head of TPUSA, Erika Kirk now leads one of the most influential grassroots organizations in conservative politics—particularly among young voters. Her endorsement signals that the infrastructure, energy, and ground game that helped fuel Trump’s victories could soon be aligned behind Vance as well.

Kirk also used her remarks to emphasize the immediate fight ahead, vowing that TPUSA will help Republicans hold Congress in 2026. “We are building the red wall,” she said. “We’re going to make sure that President Trump has Congress for all four years.”

JD Vance is scheduled to address AmericaFest on Sunday. And if the response to Erika Kirk’s endorsement is any indication, the future of the movement already has a clear direction.
