It seems like Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is never going to learn. That’s okay. We can all continue to enjoy his emotional meltdowns because of that. Swalwell, who is best known for being the only Member of Congress who was dumb enough to sleep with a Chinese spy, had a total breakdown during a House Judiciary Committee hearing this week.
What triggered Swalwell this time?
Memes, of course.
Swalwell’s meltdown reminds us of the fictitious quote that originated during GamerGate back in 2014-15:
“Make memes of your enemies until they cry. Then make memes of them crying.” – Sun Tzu (probably)
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) retweeted a meme of President Donald Trump comforting a duck and a kitten this week. It was an obvious reference to the town of Springfield, Ohio, where the news that Haitian illegal aliens are eating family pets and tame ducks from local parks went viral this week.
The theme of all these memes – and there are hundreds of them being passed around – is that President Trump will protect Americans’ pets and animals from the hordes of dangerous illegal aliens pouring into our country. It was all just too much for Eric Swalwell’s delicate sensibilities, though.
He looked like he was going to cry in the Judiciary Committee chambers because Chairman Jordan had retweeted a cat meme. Watch as Swalwell has one of his patented meltdowns in Congress, which is sort of the whole point of the memes in the first place:
