Dr Drew Pinsky Sets the Record Straight on the President’s Usage of Hydroxychloroquine

Dr. Drew Pinsky, known nationally as “Dr. Drew,” recently appeared on Turning Point USA to offer his personal and professional experience with hydroxychloroquine. According Dr. Drew “people have to separate politics with the practice of medicine.”

President Trump – who has referenced the use of the drug to treat coronavirus as well as malaria and lupus– announced this week that he is taking hydroxychloroquine. He said he is taking the drug as a preventative measure and continues to test negative for the coronavirus.

Trump told reporters, “All I can tell you is so far I seem to be OK…. I get a lot of tremendously positive news on the hydroxy … What do you have to lose?”

But politics seems to outweigh facts and common sense when it comes to the use of hydroxychloroquine. The New York Times was quick to gather a bevy of health experts who warned the public not to listen to the President’s “anecdotal experience” with hydroxychloroquine.

Dr. Steven E. Nissen, the chief academic officer of the Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, said he was concerned the public might think that taking the drug “is without hazards.”

All drugs have potential hazards and those who hate Trump know that.

Watch the video as Dr. Drew explains how doctors have been using hydroxychloroquine for almost half a century. His explanation of a prophylaxis treatment is invaluable.
